SMART Board and the Set Game

Why not have the Set Game displayed on the SMART Board for kids to solve before they start class. This would motivate kids to get into class on time. You could even have a Set Game contest or challenge students to beat your best time.

The Set Daily Puzzle is very easy to use on the SMART Board and it has a different puzzle each day. Here's a screen shot:

Set1

You need to find all six sets. Here is the solution to the one above:

Set2

The final set is almost completed. Notice the single purple striped oval and the double green striped diamond are selected. Can you guess the which one completes the set? Hint: Since the other two are striped, it would have to be striped; since the other two are different colors, it would have to be different; since the other two are different numbers, it would have to be different. Since the other two are different shapes, it would have to be different. In this case we're looking for a striped, red, triple, squiggly.

As you can see, there are instructions for learning how to play. It gets addicting so watch out! If you ever get under a minute, let me know. My best time is 46 seconds. Getting under a minute is really really good!

SMART Boards and Bitesize Games

I would like to share with you another website of educational games from the BBC. This one is called Bitesize Games and Activities. It has more quality interactive educational games than almost any other web resource I've seen. It has activities for English, Math, and Science that can also be embedded into your blog or website. I've embedded three fun games for you to play with.

MATHEMATICS - Numbers: Number Patterns

SCIENCE - Living Things: Health and Growth

ENGLISH - Writing a Story: Beginnings and Endings

I would like to thank the newest member of the Teachers Love SMART Board forum, Bill, who shared this and other great resources in the Website Suggestion area of the forum.

Smartboard and Sudoku

I had a request for an online Sudoku game that works easily with the SMART Board.

Here is my favorite online Sudoku game from Fact Monster that has different levels, allows the user to tap the square to select the number, has a learning option, and provides touch-and-drag stickies to help solve the puzzle.

Here is another version of Sudoku that also works well with the SMART Board. You can download this and use it inside your Notebook software. Please use this for educational purposes only.

Happy New Year!

SMART Boards and Holiday Fun #4

If you were looking for another great Christmas game to play on your Smartboard, look no further. Here's a holiday flash-based game called Snow Line.

In this multi-level game, you have to use your logic to draw a snow line for Santa to pick up all the presents. Maybe I'm just a kid at heart but I really had fun playing this game!

Remember to use this game for educational purposes only.

This game is Smart Board tested and Hollis approved!

Merry Christmas! Sharing is Caring!
