Since I'm not in the classroom anymore, I find that I miss creating lessons for the SMART Board that engage students and reinforce the information that the students are learning.
To keep my skills fine-tuned, I thought I would send out a Tweet (Twitter message) to my Smartboard followers to see if anyone needed a fun Notebook application for their classroom.
Here are the 1st three requests I received:
2. A lesson on Vector Addition
3. A lesson on Andrew Jackson and the Spoils System
I have a couple other requests from some amazing teachers (Lori and Dana) that I'll definitely get to after these three.
I've completed the first request for a lesson on American Folktales. I focused on Johnny Appleseed. Here's a preview of the application:
(Can't see the video? You can click here to see it.)
The Notebook file is very large due to the embedded video and audio. However, you may download the file here.
If you like the file, I hope you'll consider taking a few training courses on Teacher Online Training to learn how to become an expert Notebook user. It's effective, affordable, and fun.
Sharing is Caring!
Very nice elements in the presentation, found the video very engaging. Really gave me some ideas on how to enhance a lesson. Thanks

This is great. I just shared the link to this page with my fellow teachers at my school.

Hi James,
I am one of those 40 something teachers ( non tech savvy) who would love to know more about how to use the smart board. I have one in my classroom but I only do very basic things on it using word and internet applications. I must admit that each time I try to learn on line but I find the whole businees very confusing. Sometimes I can't even figure out how to use the tutorial that is supposed to teach me how to do things! I think I work best with a real person sitting next to me. I have never used yours before, so I am wondering if you can tell me where to start :)
Don't be fooded by my ability to blog ( it's all I can do ther than sending emails).
Sue

Just got back from vacation & have been trying to catch up, but I wanted to share that I think your Johnny Appleseed lesson is terrific! I tried downloding, but must admit the zip folder is new to me. You mentioned in your lesson that you could email it. Would that be possible? Thanks!
